Oblix
Companies House integration

Your client records, straight from Companies House — without the re-keying

Company status, registered office, SIC codes, officers, PSCs and filing history sync onto each client automatically, and the next accounts and confirmation-statement dates become tracked deadlines and jobs on your board.

The Oblix Companies House integration is a read-only sync that keeps each company client's public-register data (status, registered office, SIC codes, officers, PSCs and filing history) current automatically and turns the next accounts and confirmation-statement dates into tracked deadlines and jobs — removing manual re-keying. It does not file at Companies House.

  • Syncs each company client's Companies House record — status, registered office, SIC codes, officers, PSCs and filing history — and keeps it current automatically.
  • Reads the next annual accounts due date and the next confirmation-statement (CS01) date from Companies House and turns them into tracked deadlines.
  • Creates the matching accounts and CS01 jobs from your templates for the services each client uses, so the work lands on the Kanban board.
  • Classifies every deadline into five urgency tiers and shows the position on a colour-coded deadline dashboard.
  • Runs nightly and on demand within the Companies House rate limit, with single-client and firm-wide resync.

You are still re-keying data that already exists at Companies House

Every new limited company client means copying the company number, registered office, SIC codes, directors and PSCs across from the public register by hand. Then the year-end moves, the confirmation statement date shifts, a director resigns — and your spreadsheet quietly goes stale. Nobody notices until an accounts filing or a CS01 is suddenly two weeks away, and the data nobody updated was wrong all along. It is double entry, it is error-prone, and it is admin no qualified person should be spending time on.

The register keeps your records current, and the dates land on the board on their own

Connect a client's company number once and Oblix pulls their Companies House record and keeps it in step: status, registered office, SIC codes, officers, PSCs and filing history. The next accounts due date and the next confirmation-statement (CS01) date come straight from Companies House and become tracked deadlines, each classified by urgency, and matching jobs are created from your templates for the services that client uses. No one re-keys anything. The deadline dashboard and Kanban board show the real position, not a copy of it that someone forgot to update.

How the Companies House sync works

It runs read-only against the official Companies House API, on a nightly schedule and on demand, and writes the result onto each client and into your deadlines and jobs.

Connect by company number

Add a client's company number and Oblix fetches their Companies House record. There is nothing to type across — the register is the source.

Client facts stay current

Company status, registered office, SIC codes, year-end, officers and PSCs (persons with significant control over 25%) and filing history are written onto the client and refreshed on the nightly sweep.

Statutory dates become deadlines

The next annual accounts due date and the next confirmation-statement date are read from Companies House and turned into tracked deadlines, sourced and dated automatically.

Jobs appear on your board

For the services a client is set up for, Oblix creates the matching accounts and CS01 jobs from your templates, so the work lands on the Kanban board ready to allocate.

Re-sync on demand

Resync a single client, or run a firm-wide resync, whenever you want the latest position — for example after an incorporation or a registered-office change.

Read-only by design — Oblix never files for you

This is ingest, not submission. Oblix reads the public register to keep your records and deadlines accurate; it does not file accounts or confirmation statements at Companies House on your behalf, and it does not pull live HMRC obligation data. Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE and CIS deadlines are derived in code from each client's own facts (year-end, VAT scheme, payroll frequency, CIS status) and only for the services your firm has enabled for that client. Companies House data and rule-derived dates sit side by side on one deadline dashboard, colour-coded by urgency.

What it gives the practice.

Companies House sync of company status, registered office, SIC codes, officers, PSCs and filing history

Client records stay current with no double entry — the official register, not a spreadsheet copy, is the source of truth.

Next accounts and confirmation-statement dates ingested as tracked deadlines, with matching jobs auto-created from templates

Statutory work appears on the deadline dashboard and Kanban board on its own, so nothing slips because a date was never copied across.

Five urgency tiers (Overdue, Critical, Urgent, Approaching, Distant) applied to every deadline

The practice manager can see at a glance which accounts and CS01 dates need attention now and which can wait.

UK statutory deadline coverage across accounts, CS01, Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE/RTI, CIS and Self Assessment

One dashboard covers the whole statutory calendar, so no obligation lives in a separate tracker.

Nightly and on-demand sync that stays within the Companies House rate limit

Hundreds of clients stay in step within the rate limit, without anyone babysitting the sync.

Questions practices ask

Does Oblix file accounts or confirmation statements at Companies House?

No. The Companies House integration is read-only — it pulls the public register to keep your client records, deadlines and jobs accurate, but it never files accounts or submits a confirmation statement on your behalf. You still file through your normal route; Oblix makes sure the dates and data are right and that the work is on your board in good time.

What client data does the sync pull from Companies House?

It pulls company status, registered office address, SIC codes, year-end, officers, persons with significant control (PSCs) and filing history, plus the next annual accounts due date and the next confirmation-statement (CS01) date. These are written onto each client and refreshed automatically. PSCs are those with significant control over 25%, as published by Companies House; smaller shareholders are not on the public PSC register.

How do the accounts and CS01 dates become work I can manage?

The next accounts due date and the next confirmation-statement date come straight from Companies House and are created as tracked deadlines, each classified into one of five urgency tiers. For the services a client is set up for, Oblix also creates the matching jobs from your templates, so the work appears on your Kanban board and deadline dashboard ready to allocate — without anyone keying in a date.

Does it work for a practice with hundreds of company clients?

Yes. The sync runs on a nightly schedule and respects the Companies House rate limit (600 requests per five minutes), so a large client book stays current without anyone managing the process. You can also resync a single client, or run a firm-wide resync, on demand whenever you need the latest position.

What about Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE and CIS deadlines — are those from Companies House too?

No, those are derived in code from each client's own facts rather than from Companies House. Oblix works out Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE/RTI, CIS and Self Assessment dates from details such as the year-end, VAT scheme, payroll frequency and CIS status, and only for the services your firm has enabled for that client. Companies House supplies the accounts and CS01 dates; the rest are rule-derived, and they all appear together on one deadline dashboard.
